Do you say "Thank you" to a state trooper?

Did I tell you guys that I got a warning??? I was driving home from school yesterday and nearly ran over six state troopers having a road block party in the middle of the freakin' road. Apparently my inspection sticker was a little expired (try by like four mounths!)..but I promise you, I noticed it on Monday, and I was like, I have GOT to get that changed...Brad reminded me of the $250 fine that comes with an expired inspection sticker....thank you Brad :) I told the trooper that I was going to get it changed this week, and he looked at me as if to say "Yeah, right!" But I guess he belived me because he let me off with a warning...thank the Lord! It was so funny, because he handed me this warning and I didn't know what to say. You don't say thank you, do you? I mean, dude, you're getting like a ticket, it's not like you're grateful for it...right? So I said "Thank you (even though I felt pretty stupid saying and he looked at me kinda funny) have a nice day!" And I drove away to get my inspection sticker changed.
